180 MW Renewable Energy - Project by Greenko Group

Project background

This project activity is a large-scale solar project. The project is supported by the Greenko Group and there are six special purpose units of 30 MW each, totalling 180 MW. The project replaces approximately 327,729 MWh/year of electricity generated by power plants connected to the Indian grid, which consists mainly of thermal/fossil fuel-based power plants. The project activity will create permanent and temporary employment opportunities in the project vicinity. The power supply in the neighbourhood will be improved, which will have a positive impact on the economy and lifestyle in the region.

SDG 8 (Decent work and economic growth): The project activity provides employment opportunities for the local population during the construction, commissioning and maintenance of the solar power project.
SDG 13 (Climate action): Solar energy is one of the cleanest renewable energies and does not require fossil fuels. No greenhouse gas emissions are produced, which is why approximately 308,687 tonnes CO2e can be saved per year.
