Climate protection projects with impact: simple, verified and credible.

The Sustainable Impact Pool of the Foundation Development and Climate Alliance offers companies straightforward access to high-quality climate protection certificates. There is no heavy administrative burden or quality risk — just real climate action and sustainable development.

The idea: achieving more together

Taking action on climate change is one of the most pressing tasks of our time — and, for companies, a matter of credibility. Supporting climate protection projects in the Global South is an important part of a holistic corporate climate strategy. However, the market for climate certificates is complex: quality differences are difficult for outsiders to recognise, negotiations with project providers are time-consuming, and reputational risks are hard to evaluate.

This is exactly where the Sustainable Impact Pool comes in.

The Foundation Development and Climate Alliance carefully assesses climate protection projects, selecting only the best and bundling demand from multiple companies. This creates better terms for everyone involved, and every tonne of carbon saved is tracked transparently. This ensures that your climate commitment is both effective and safe to communicate.

What makes the certificates special?

Independently assessed — to the strictest standards

We select projects actively and support their progress continuously. The following are assessed: climate impact, additionality, and compliance with recognised international standards. Only projects that truly meet these criteria make it into the pool.

Compatible with your reporting standards

The Sustainable Impact Pool is compatible with the Foundation’s own SDGold seal, as well as with common sustainability frameworks such as the CSRD and Science Based Targets. This enables your climate measures to be credibly embedded in your sustainability reporting.

No double counting

Every tonne of carbon is counted only once. The certificates align with Corresponding Adjustments (CAs) under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, helping to protect you from greenwashing accusations while creating genuine transparency.

Communication included

Depending on your needs, we support you with suitable communication materials from the projects and help you on how to present your climate commitment externally.

Frequently asked questions about the Sustainable Impact Pool

The pool is open to all companies looking to take responsibility for their emissions, including small and medium-sized businesses, larger organisations and public institutions. Individuals interested in high-quality climate protection are also welcome.

You will receive an exact price based on your individual needs. As we bundle demand, more favourable terms should emerge for all participants over time. Get in touch and we’ll put together a concrete offer for you.

Quality checks on the open market are often opaque and time-consuming. In the Sustainable Impact Pool, however, we handle the vetting and selection for you to the strictest standards — continuously and independently. You buy quality you can stand behind.
